Eqleed Hotel

Date

2014

Location

Khobar, Saudi Arabia

This hotel design is inspired by the rich heritage of Andalusian culture, where the concept of "Generations" and "Continuity" is central. After the fall of Al Andalus, Muslims migrated to various countries, taking their home keys with them—symbols of hope for a return to their homes. These keys were passed down through generations, embodying the longing for home and continuity.

In the design, this symbolism is reflected in the use of circular, open spaces and straight lines that connect different areas. The architecture features Andalusian influences, with intricate geometric patterns and arches that evoke a sense of history and connection. The layout includes varying ceiling and floor levels to separate functions, creating a dynamic flow between public, semi-public, and private spaces. This interplay of design elements not only celebrates Andalusian culture but also creates a welcoming and functional environment for guests, with a seamless blend of tradition and modernity.
